I saw you on the sidewalk Your head and shoulders bent I thought I recognised you But it was someone else It got me to thinking of you And break into a smile Because when I knew you boy You were in your prime In your prime In your prime I had you in your prime Up against resistance baby You roared like a lion You had them all down You blew them all away When you were in your prime Boy I've got to say Some say you killed a man Some say the man killed you Some want you to stay the same For some you'll never do But still you go your own way Still the world turns around When you were in your prime A different place and time In your prime In your prime I had you in your prime Between the soft newness and Hollow hollow cheeks of time You had them all down You blew them all away When you were in your prime Boy I've got to say

Ruin Me Ruin me I want you to Ruin me I need you to They teach you to be perfect But you and I both know that it’s not worth it So I want you to ruin Me Turn me into a walking disaster Make a fool of me and make it faster honey Take your time and take it slow Just ruin me And I don’t care how I don’t care where I don’t care about Anything you want Let me destroy you too If that’s what you want to do ‘Cause love is not meant to be No love is not meant to be manageable Ruin me I want you to ruin me They teach you to be perfect But you and I both know that it’s not worth it So ruin me Go ahead and ruin me Cause love is not meant to be No love is not meant to be And I don’t care how And I don’t care where Just ruin me baby If you dare Let me destroy you too If that’s what you want me to do Ruin me baby Ruin me baby I want you to ruin me

Road Weary Sparrow You give me that look And I want to sit down and Find a table Why don’t we get some beers Guess I’m nervous As we talk I tear the label This is where I found you I put my feet up on your knees And let you fuss over me As you say Come back to mine I’ll look after you my road weary sparrow Soon the sun will be setting in the Western sky You can fly tomorrow Come back to mine At this table on the sidewalk Dipping bread I’m feeling a little giddy Is this what is meant By going with the flow You have no heating Or air conditioning But a good view a bath And a stove And I think maybe I’ll take up your offer It’s so nice to feel like I’m going home When it seems I’m always leaving And the sunsets are infinite And sorrowful You say come back to mine I’ll look after you road weary sparrow Soon the sun will be setting in the Western sky You can fly tomorrow Cone back to mine You say come back to mine I’ll look after you road weary sparrow Soon the sun will be setting in the Western sky You can fly tomorrow Cone back to mine I know that you’re tired And we have both had sorrow You say come back to mine

A Girl Alone A window seat so you can see The fields and sea below A complimentary drink in hand To blur the fears you hold The rights and wrongs You’ve gone through Your brother bought the ticket for you All your savings to the doctor No easy decision You are a girl alone You are a girl alone What would the couple next to you Think about your plans Going somewhere nice they ask Just before the plane lands No you answer just to see A friend who’s started college When the man lets you out And helps with your small luggage You are a girl alone You are a girl alone You are a girl alone You are a girl alone Life is precious life is great Tell me now about my state Nature took me to the surgeon So I will never meet you Do you live elsewhere In a dream I thought you Touched my shoulder And I awoke a girl alone A girl alone And I woke a girl alone A girl alone

Broken Wing The cotton swaying in the breeze From the heatwave no relief There’s something missing There’s something broken All the while deep down you freeze Your daddy gave you everything Perhaps it was not what you need Your beautiful mama Always distant Up and down exposed to extremes Something inside of you is broken Something inside is left unspoken You try to fly but it seems pointless Something isn’t as it should be Broken wing You can’t put your finger on it Picture perfect as a dream Whispers of ungrateful child But things are not as they seem The sun and wind they will find you One day you’ll have your own sweet Spring As you thaw your trust in life And all the joy it brings You will soar up very high No more broken wing No more broken wing

Vicky Vacuum Vicky Vacuum is my name I clean up bits and bobs My friend is Sid the frier He sits on the hob Some days they pass so slow I entertain myself Only the other day I rearranged the whole house They lead me round the hallway They take me up the stairs They free me when my chord gets caught Between the dining chairs Vicky Vacuum is my name I clean up bits and bobs My friend is Sid the frier He sits on the hob They take the pan and brush To sweep the dirt outside And shake and beat the rugs Because my engine’s loud Oh but I’ve got to go now My fuses are turned on By the time I’ve finished How the place will shine Vicky Vacuum is my name I clean up bits and bobs My friend is Sid the frier He sits on the hob Vicky Vacuum is my name I clean my life away My friend is Sid the frier He sits on the hob Vicky Vacuum is my name Yes I clean away My friend the frier How the place will shine The place will shine

All The King's Horses All the King’s horses All the King’s men Couldn’t put him back together again Another Monday morning put on a fresh shirt And with his briefcase a stage left He walked uphill to the tube station topped up his travel card And stood on the right as the escalator went down And all the King’s horses And all the King’s men Couldn’t put him back together again Was it a split second decision or a long building feeling A sinking sand lost peace of mind The early morning station guard had made some notes There was a plastic bag with things from the pockets He left his briefcase at the side of the wall A commuter shouted but he still stepped in front And from the outside it seemed nothing was wrong Something took hold powerless to escape from From hope to despair Couldn’t ask for help And all the King’s horses And all the King’s men Couldn’t put him back together again Did he lose faith in the confidence trick Lose compassion for his own human state His wife said he seemed upbeat at the weekend If he did or said something a little strange She couldn’t recall she was too upset And all the King’s horses And all the King’s men Couldn’t put him back together again And if he asked for help who would they really listen He would not ask them again And all the King’s horses And all the King’s men Couldn’t put him back together again

Not What I Need Gonna meet you later But go home alone I like you baby But something I know Though you're ok You're not what I need It's instinctive don't need to wait and see Not what I need what I need what I need what I need what I need is what I need Life can fuck up  And your focus gone You get waylaid Mixed up in confusion And before you realise From top to toe You don't recognise yourself In your life no more   Not what I need what I need what I need what I need what I need is what I need Not what I need what I need what I need what I need what I need is what I need Under special offer For convenience No bargain hunter Got to have the best for me Not what I need what I need what I need what I need what I need is what I need Not what I need what I need what I need what I need what I need is what I need Not what I need what I need what I need what I need what I need is what I need Not what I need what I need what I need what I need what I need is what I need Stop.

A Fool I got to stray from the path to meet different people Escape the city rut see what’s out there for me Before I was scared Now I wonder how I stayed so long Take the driver seat In destiny see what the future brings And if I’m a fool to take a chance like I do To take my dreams and make them real And if I’m a fool to pack my bag and leave Taking my guitar down the road Then darling I’m a fool I’m a fool A fool Throw caution to the wind been playing far too safe to be real With an open mind my favourite jeans a case is all I need Wait too long And chances pass by stuck in routine Just getting by But now I’ve got to see what I could be And if I’m a fool to take a chance like I do To take my dreams and make them real And if I’m a fool to take my bag and leave Following my guitar down the road I can’t sit and watch as life passes me by Play by the rules that really are no good for me Then darling I’m a fool I’m a fool I’m a fool
